Summer, Part 1

This is my "trying to play catch up so here's some pictures of what we did over the summer" post. Bryan, being a school psychologist, had the entire summer off - sweet! He chose not get a part time job because this was his first summer off with no work or school and he kind of wanted to enjoy it. So we took advantage of his time off and went on a few trips. We also got Seven Peaks passes, even though Bryan and I are not big swimmers (but it's also good at Trafalga), and now Holland is super sad that the "big pool" is closed. Here are some pictures from when we went down to St. George just for fun with our friends Dane & Bridget and Mike & Katie. Unfortunately, I don't have very many pictures, but we had a great time - thanks Dane & Bridget! We went on a hike one day and Holland wanted the walking stick (this was before we got to the trail).
We saw a turtle on our hike right in the middle of the trail. Look at Holland's face - she loved it!
Also from the St. George trip, Holland said "I crazy person!" while running aimlessly through an empty parking lot. Maybe we tell her too much that she's crazy...
We went to the art festival in Springville (thanks Bridget!). Here's Holland with some of her creations:The singles ward (that Bryan was in the bishopric of) had a "famous duos & trios" dance party where you were supposed to dress up. Last minute, here's what we came up with (mind you this was around the time of the NBA finals)
We also made it down to Vegas a couple of times this summer for Bryan's nieces Ellie's baptism and Kelsey's high school graduation. We went down to the strip and watched the Bellagio fountains. Here's Holland with Uncle Keith (love the goofy faces)
After the fountains we went to Serendipity for giant sundaes - yum! :) We also had went on a double date with Bryan's nephew Tyson and his wife Danielle. Danielle works for the Venetian, and she "treated" us to dinner with her awesome hookups at the Grand Lux Cafe. Asian Nachos were delicious!
We also went to the "Pawn Stars" (from the History Channel) pawn store.And I think that was actually my first time in a pawn store. We saw some cool stuff...
Olympic Gold Medal, anyone? Funny how small they were back then - this one was maybe a little larger than a 50 cent piece! Or how 'bout some Chumlee toast?
One of the times we went down to Vegas we drove with Bryan's sister Shelly and her husband Keith, and then we flew back to Utah. Holland loves airplanes, so she was really excited to be able to ride on one.
And she did excellent on the trip (it probably also helped that it's a short flight and we had our friend, the DVD player). And that concludes part 1. Stay tuned for part 2 with a Grant family reunion in Washington!
